the strong slopping land offered an upper pedestrian access passage way and a lower car access towards a basement floor. this allowed for the conception of a distinct volume that interlocks two cubes at 45º. the outer cube made of stone carries small openings to protect a core-glazed cube entirely open to the view. the whole volume is carved into alternating fills and voids, protrusions and enclosures, concave and convex plays. seen from the inside the alternating solid wall and the glazed panel openings create an element of surprise and playfulness to the outside.
